Ian's World Cup Pro Tips #1
Sound like a knowledgeable pundit when referring to the German football team by describing their playing style as “precise” and “clinical”.

This is an old video from a British Comedy show. Not about the BP oil disaster yet still relevant to it, also it makes me laugh like a maniac.
This just never gets old!
in the fade: World Cup! →
What the hell do I know about soccer? Oh, I’m sorry. FOOTBALL. Futbol? Honestly, I don’t know much except that every four years I pretend to have this great interest in it and I go all World Cup crazy. That is, until America gets its collective ass handed to it and I go back to watching baseball…
I’m seriously looking forward to England being awesome right up until they throw it...

Dear Steve Jobs,
Freedom from porn?
Ok, let’s sort this out.
Hands up if you have an Apple product and have viewed porn on it?
Oh, Ok. Not everyone.
I’m a little suprised.
Wait! Just had a thought…
Hands up if you have an Apple product and have MADE porn on it?
Boom!
There you go.
A bunch of people spoke their tweets for your enjoymentainment, which is totally a word now.

I assumed and was wrong.
In my previous post I ragged on Starbucks and companies not getting that the world is round and communicating… and I was wrong. Apparently the offer of free coffee is in the UK as well.
So, I will break out that My Little Pony tumbler and let you know how it works out.
Actually, no I won’t because Starbucks is using it’s “group up” tactics in my home town to push...

Super Bowl Abortion.
Hey, I have an idea. How about instead of having an anti-choice advert for the middle of the Super Bowl, how about a video promoting birth control instead?
Hip director, hot chicks, cool guys, a Trojan logo… and boom! Back capping demographic entertained, served and educated until they have a few beers from our next sponsors.
Unlimited Broadband!
My friend and I have been having trouble with our ISP - BT Openreach - for a while. They have the monopoly in the UK and…
I recently upgraded to the “Unlimited Broadband” with BT and shortly received an email telling me I had nearly gotten to 100GB of transfer, and if I went over they would slow down my connection from around 5mbps to 1-1.5mbps… thus limiting my...

2010 Predictions.
Here are my predictions for 2010. Feel free to point and laugh to any that don’t come true…
Apple take the movie industry on a big ride in the same manner they did the music industry with iTunes, and we see the Apple TV rise in the same way the iPod did.
a) Google release a VoiP phone that takes a provider agnostic SIM card as a backup. b) Google also start a free ISP, probably...

Credit Card Subversion.
I have a credit card. I have had it for over a year now. It’s not my only card, I still have debt on others.
This one however, has never been used and it’s via from a bank I had unpleasant dealings with a few years back.
I simply don’t use it. But every few months, as and when I remember, I take it out and cut it up. Then I call the credit card company and tell them I destroyed...

Why TV?
Do you still pay for a cable or satellite TV service?
I don’t. I stopped quite a while ago. The point came when I asked myself: “Why am I paying for people to advertise at me, and to try and fill me with propaganda?”.
Now I look at things as… if someone or a service is going to advertise to me, that is the charge. My TIME is the charge, the opportunity to tempt me is the...

Don't trust me. I am not a real journalist.
Like you I’m sure, I am tired of lazy internet headlines offering fear dressed up as insight on tired subjects.
I’m going to do a little series of articles about common articles.

Hot News Day.
Wow. Some news today!
You have probably heard about the death rattle of Favrd.com by now. Unfortunately, the end of this popular website has started a chain reaction through the technorati of personal publishing and then the web in general.
The first casualty I’m sorry to break to you is Twitter. The guys behind Twitter don’t like people outside the original user base clique using...
